Quadmix Gel 2 X0.3 syringes
Quad-Mix is a self-administered penile injection, typically considered as part of the most powerful class of agents to assist with treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in males.
Quad-Mix contains four drugs designed to act together; Papaverine, Phentolamine, Alprostadil, and Atropine. Papaverine is a vasodilator, which causes blood vessels to expand and helps produce an erection by allowing the increase of blood flow to the penis. Phentolamine induces an erection when injected into the penis by relaxing and dilating blood vessels, along with elevating cardiac output. Prostaglandin E1 (Alprostadil) is a potent hormone-like substance that induces an erection by relaxing blood vessels in the penis and dilating cavernosal arteries. This dilation of the cavernosal arteries is accompanied by increased arterial inflow velocity, along with increased venous outflow resistance; which allows for more blood to flow into the penis and less blood to flow out of the penis. Atropine Sulfate works by inhibiting the receptors in the nervous system that control smooth muscle relaxation.
Quadmix has been successful when given as an intracavernosal injection for the treatment of ED.
